The Wonderful Recap of The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society 60th Anniversary Charity Dinner

HKACS’s 60th Anniversary Charity Dinner concluded on July 6, 2023 with great success. In celebration of this significant milestone, HKACS would like to express our deepest gratitude to Regal Hotels International for sponsoring this event for the seventh time since we began this meaningful initiative in 2009, which allows the charity dinner to take place at the Regala Skycity Hotel. Also, HKACS was grateful for the overwhelming support from our donors, supporters and leaders from government and business sectors. Furthermore, Dr. Peter HO, the son of Professor HO Hung-chiu, John, founder of the HKACS attended this memorable event all the way from the United States.

This year, we are honoured to have the presence of Mr. CHAN Kwok-ki, Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as our Guest of Honour. To commemorate this special occasion, Professor Sydney TANG, Chairman of the 60th Anniversary Organising Committee, collaborated with the Music Director of the event, Mr. CHIU Tsang-hei, renowned lyricist, Mr. CHENG Kwok-kong, and Ms. Elisa CHAN, the Cantopop superstar to create the 60th anniversary theme song. The song made its debut during the charity dinner and served as an encouragement and blessing to every cancer survivor. HKACS also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. John LAU, Dr. MAN Chi-wai and Dr. CHOW Yuk-yin for their poetic contributions to the anniversary celebration.

The dinner featured a diverse programme including performances by Dr. Liza WANG, the “Anti-Cancer Quintet”  ( Dr. LEUNG Chi-hung, Dr. KO Wing-man, Dr. Jimmy KWOK Siu-ming, Dr. Simon TANG, and Prof. Sydney TANG), international harmonica maestro Mr. Gordon LEE, Mr. Christopher TANG, the son of Prof. Sydney TANG, and guest host Mr. Stephen CHAN. Their captivating performances added a vibrant touch to the evening. Once again, thank you for joining us to celebrate the milestone in the development of HKACS!
